BUNGALOWS, BARBELLS & BEACH DAYS

Image
Bungalows, Barbells and Beach Days   Towards the end of my travels of Thailand, I was off to explore some Thai islands. This included Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. When doing my research of Koh Phangan, I had discovered that this island had a mix of party life, wellness, and relaxation. Koh Phangan is popular for its Full Moon parties. A Full Moon party is a monthly party, that happens on the beach in Haad Rin – This party takes place on the night of, before, or after every full moon. During my planned time to stay on this island this party was not on. Since the Full Moon Party was not on during my stay, I chose for something different – a fitness resort by the beach. Koh Phangan is well known for its many yoga, wellness, and meditation retreats.   I stayed at Wild Wood x Hansa Beach Fitness Resort . This resort is in Thong Sala, which is the main town in Koh Phangan. Wild Wood was in a great location that was close to the port (where you enter and exit the island by boat), lo...

ELEPHANTS OF CHIANG MAI

Image
Elephants of Chiang Mai     One of my main reasons for visiting Chiang Mai was to visit an ethical elephant sanctuary. Elephants are one of my favourite animals, and it was a dream of mine to visit them in Thailand. This is a popular activity for tourists to do when in Thailand. Not all of these “elephant sanctuaries” that claim to be ethical are ethical. I appreciate animals and do not think they deserve to “work” or perform for human entertainment.   How to tell if an elephant sanctuary is ethical ·       No touching, riding, bathing or feeding An ethical elephant sanctuary will not allow visitors to touch, ride, bathe or feed the elephants as this respects the elephants’ natural behaviours. As in the wild elephants usually do not interact with humans. ·   ...

CITIES TO BEACHES

Image
Cities to Beaches Thailand was always a country that has been on my bucket list, so summer 2025 I decided to visit.  When planning my month trip to Thailand I wanted to ensure that I was exploring as much of the country as possible. I decided 4 weeks would be the perfect amount of time to spend in Thailand, as my goal was to take in the unique atmosphere of each destination and gain a true experience of what it has to offer. From the buzzing city life of Bangkok to the cultural charm and elephants of Chiang Mai, the stunning beaches in Krabi and Phuket and the true island vibes of Phi Phi, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. As I already had an idea of some things that I wanted to experience, it made planning and choosing the destinations to visit much easier. I mapped out a route that was filled with city buzz, cultural experiences, and island-hopping adventures.   First destination of the route was the capital of Thailand, Bangkok. Bangkok was the first location as this city...
